after church on sunday off we went to look for the perfect pumpkins. of course we couldnt buy one or two but we bought 4. i guess when you have as many children as we do that should be expected. you know what, i dont remember carving a pumpkin as a kid. truthfully there is not a lot i remember from my childhood. if you know us well you know my dearest husband remembers being born. ok, maybe not that far back but pretty darn close.
last year when we were carving nicholas refused to put his hand inside the pumpkin. he was so grossed out by all the gunk and smell. this year he ran up to me and said he was totally gonna touch all the gross stuff. aahh, my boy is growing up.
here we are again with a typical picture of a.j. i swear i cant get a good picture of him to save my life. there is so much to teenagerhood its not even funny. this morning i had a realization that i must be doing my job right as a mother. we had our typical not so fun, kinda sucky morning and a.j. decided to yell out a few words. "I HATE THIS STUPID PLACE!!!!!" that was after i told him he is grounded until further notice. that meant he will be handing out candy on halloween instead of trick or treating. after i heard those words come out of his mouth i knew i must be doing something right.
of course brenda could careless about carving a dumb, useless pumpkin.
she thought hitting it with her hands was so much better.
here is the finished product. from left to right we have joeys, a.j.s, nicholas' and last but not least brenda and sunnie's.
i figured i better put something together for brendas class for halloween. this wasnt my best work but i have limited time for stuff like this. since i pass my craft room to get to the washing machine i try to sneak in a couple minutes gluing and cutting here and there. usually i have to stay up way too late or get up way too early to do my crafting.
here is a gift i made for shawna (helens older sister) i made little sour cream containers as i like to call them. jason thinks they look like the popsicles school cafeterias give out. do you remember the sour cream packs wendys fast food had? well, thats what they are suppose to resemble. I filled them with different things like candy, lip gloss and so on. it was her 15th so i thought 15 little gifts was perfect.
i keep forgetting to post something funny that jojo keeps saying. every time we walk out of the house i set the alarm. well, when i do that the alarm always "says" ARMED, STAY, EXIT NOW!
i also made her this. its along the same lines as the baby shower gift i made a few weeks back. it took me 2 weeks to finish just this part of her gift. The morning i was to frame it i woke up at 5 in the morning and when i put the paper in the frame, guess what? it didnt fit... i do believe i said some nice words at that time. needless to say i had to start from square one and redo the whole thing. i'm not sure how i managed to measure wrong but i've learned not to question a lot of things. i sure hope she liked it.
since jo repeats everything in his own little way this is what he says, "ARMED, STAY, NAKED NOW!!!" isnt that funny? my mind immediately fast forwards to when he is married and he is telling that to his wife. i wonder if she will find it as funny as i do? you notice how i say when he is married. we all know what a good boy he is gonna turn out to be and not demand anybody naked until marriage.
(again, i got these gift ideas from the cricut message board. i sure wish i could remember who but unfortunately i cant, sorry. if you ever need creative help the people over there can help)
